Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Orion SpaceProbe 130 EQ ReflectorCustomer Review: Great scope!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful starter scope. The only problem I have had is my bright surrounding and getting used to adjusting the EQ mound. I bought this for my fiance's birthday and we are both left handed, so we want to do everything the "other way"...lol. Everything viewed through the scope is upside down and turned 180 degrees. Which adds to the lefty confusion. Over time you get used to it and so far we have seen awesome views of the full moon. Jupiter was visible even with all the bright lights. The cloud bands and all 4 moons were seen easily. We were able to get some great photos of the moon, but the barlow lens is needed for a closer view and better pics of Jupiter. We also purchased a barlow lens, color filters, camera mount & bag so the scope can be carried with ease. We have not had the chance to use these accessories yet because of the weather, but we can not wait!
Customer Review: We love this scope Summary: 5 Stars
My family and I love this scope. We've been able to observe very crisp images of Saturn and Jupiter with 180x using the supplied 10mm eyepiece and a separately purchased 2x barlow. With or without the barlow, viewing of the Orion Nebula is easy. We've also enjoyed looking at the moon and several other objects e.g. Clusters, Andromeda Galaxy.
If you're new to astronomy or if you've only used a 3 inch or less refractor, this scope is an excellent upgrade. It's price is right! You will have to buy some extras, but you'd have to with any scope purchase. I promise it'll peak your interest or the interest of your children. I would think that most pre-teens would need a little help using this scope, but you'll enjoy helping them!

Customer Review: heavy telescope, but works well Summary: 5 Stars
has a great eyepiece slot that fits most eyepieces and barlow lenses out there. Great telescope, but somewhat heavy and difficult to move around alone.
Cannot resolve planets in detail.
stars are points of light as expected
Moon shows GREAT detail, may be bright
on small view radii, constant adjustments need to be made- a bit annoying, but at the same time very cool- since this is visual confirmation on Earth's rotation.
Jupiter is blurry, but Great Red Spot may be seen sometimes.
Moons of Jupiter are points of light.
Mars is red circle
Saturns rings are visibly surrounding the planet
Customer Review: The best telescope for beginniners! Summary: 5 Stars
This telescope is the best telescope for beginners! It's aperture (the daiemeter of the mirrors) is 130mm (5.1 inches). Some telescopes (like Bushnell 675 X 4.5) are pricer and worser! With this scope, you can view Jupiter's bands (and occasally the Great Red Spot), zoom on the rings of Saturn, while exploring the Orion Nubluea, star clusters, and MUCH,MUCH MORE! I'm planning to get it next June!
