Description of Orion Parsec and Universal CCD to Canon EF/EF-S Lens AdapterOur Parsec to Canon EOS Lens Adapter will bring a new facet of versatility to your astro-imaging repertoire. By allowing you to attach a Canon EOS DSLR (or SLR) camera lens to your Orion Parsec CCD Astronomical Imaging Camera, this handy adapter enables you to capture a super wide field-of-view. Most DSLR and SLR camera lenses are much more optically fast than many imaging telescopes, and as such provide a field-of-view far wider than most telescopes. Using a fast camera lens for astro-imaging also enables you to capture a tremendous amount of detail in comparatively shorter exposures. Wide-field expanses of night sky that would normally require a mosaic combination of narrow-field images can be captured quickly and easily in a single shot. Imagine capturing entire wide-field constellations such as Cygnus in a single exposure! Imaging with such an expansive field of view also enables you to take other creative compositions including star trails, landscape silhouettes, meteor showers, and more! Astro-imaging with the fast focal ratio offered by DSLR and SLR camera lenses does not require an especially heavy-duty mount with a large payload capacity - any mount that tracks equatorially will deliver fantastic results. When using this adapter and a fast Canon EOS lens, precise tracking is not as critical as when using a longer focal length astro-imaging telescope. What's more, autoguiding is not necessary to achieve admirable results.
