I love monoculars - they are so much easier to carry than binoculars, and after looking though a wonderful monocular like the Orion, you may never go back to using binoculars again. I bought my Orion used for $50 at an amateur astronomy swap meet during a star party on a mountaintop in Oregon many years ago. It goes everywhere I go. The perfect combination of size and power, its optics are breath-taking -- unmatched brightness and clarity. Everyone who tries it says "Wow". With an remarkably large field of view, it's like looking though a window. The Orion is identical to the CrystalView Sharpshooter, except the CrystalView is black.

Our EagleEye monocular is the perfect portable spotting scope. It has the field of view (7.8-deg) of a big binocular, a long eye relief of 18mm (great for eyeglass wearers), and an incredible near focus of 2' - that's just about arm's length! Both the 32mm two-element objective and four-element 3/4" eye lens are fully multi-coated for maximum image brightness and contrast. The EagleEye's 8x magnification is suitable for birding, nature study, hiking, and sightseeing. And at less than half the weight (6.2 oz.) and size of binoculars of similar aperture, it's extremely portable and packable. Its 8x magnification brings far-away action up close.
