Customer Review: Quality item but not the solution

I bought this adapter to use my high quality 1.25" eyepieces on an old, cheap 6" Celestron reflector.
While the adapter is great quality, the issue now is I cannot properly focus the scope. Even with the focuser cranked all the way in, having the eyepiece in the adapter has it just a smidgen too far out still.
I believe the solution is to just replace the entire focuser with a 1.25" or 2" one and I see Orion has a universal 1.25" one for under $30. Will try the one off my 10" Orion reflector first before I drop more money on the cheap scope (it has a motor driven equatorial mount - the only reason I'm bothering to try to use it).
